Description of objectives, tasks and primary activities of the institution

In Italy and in the world the Accademia della Crusca is among the leading institutions in the field of the research on italian language. Nowadays its activity is focusing on the followings:

● supporting scientific activitity and the training of new researchers in italian linguistics and philology through its specialized Centres and in cooperation with the Universities;

● acquiring and spreading, in the Italian society and especially in the schools, historical knowledge of Italian language and awareness of its actual evolution, keeping in mind the cross-linguistic exchanges that are having place in the present world;

● collaborating with the most important foreign institutions as well as with Italian and European Governments, supporting the cause of multilinguism on our continent.
